Horizontal or sideways video
Snapchat may leave the video out of recommendations, so fewer people see it.
About to post? A full check of your video looks for this in what's shown and the video's size, shape and length, with a plain fix.
Check a video freeWhat triggers it
A horizontal (landscape) video, or footage rotated the wrong way, submitted to Spotlight.
What Snapchat says
“Snaps should be vertical videos with sound. Still-image photos, horizontal Snaps, blurry Snaps, and text-only Snaps won’t show up in Spotlight.”
How to fix it
Shoot or re-edit as vertical 9:16 and check the rotation flag before export.
Good to know
Width greater than height, or a vertical file whose content is rotated 90 degrees. The Quality page lists 'incorrect orientation' as not eligible too.
Can FYProof spot it?
A full check of your video looks for it in what's shown and the video's size, shape and length. What a check finds is an estimate, not a guarantee.
