Blurry, pixelated or badly reformatted video
Snapchat may leave the video out of recommendations, so fewer people see it.
About to post? A full check of your video looks for this in what's shown and the video's size, shape and length, with a plain fix.
Check a video freeWhat triggers it
Footage that is blurry, low-resolution or pixelated, or that was poorly re-encoded, upscaled or cropped from another format.
What Snapchat says
“This includes content with blurry, low-resolution, or pixelated imagery; incorrect orientation; unoriginal or poorly reformatted content; letterboxed videos; or missing audio.”
How to fix it
Export at 1080x1920 from the original source, avoid re-saving downloaded copies, and re-shoot out-of-focus parts.
Good to know
Watch for resolution below 720p on the short side, heavy compression blocks, visible upscaling softness, or out-of-focus footage for most of the video. Short intentional blur (transitions, censoring a face) does not count.
Can FYProof spot it?
