What triggers it
Paid, gifted, affiliate or ambassador content promoting: adult products (incl. corsets, micro-thongs), protected-animal products, tobacco or vapes, transactional dating, drugs or CBD, MLM, payday loans or get-rich-quick offers, medical/telehealth/therapy, infant formula, teeth whitening, hair growth, cosmetic clinics, tattoo or laser services, political ads, spyware or tools for dishonest behavior, accounting, legal or immigration services, weapons, non-culinary knives, pepper spray, fireworks, weight-loss products, detox teas, fasting products, counterfeits, faith-healing claims or disrespect of religion, or tie-ins to tragedies (deaths, disasters, attacks) with selling or hashtag appropriation.
What TikTok says
“You must not post Branded Content that promotes or reviews products or services from the following prohibited industries.”
We last checked this against TikTok's page on .
How to fix it
Don't post branded content for these categories.
Good to know
Only applies when the post is commercial (paid, gifted, affiliate code or link, ambassador). Match the product against the list; e.g. a gifted teeth-whitening kit or an affiliate link to a detox tea counts.
