What triggers it

Using another company's trademark (name, logo) in a way that may mislead people about an affiliation, such as presenting yourself as the brand's official channel.

What X says

“Using another's trademark in a way that may mislead or confuse people about your affiliation may be a violation of our trademark policy.”

How to fix it

Make clear you are not affiliated (for example 'unofficial' or 'review'), and do not use the brand's logo as your own branding.

Good to know

Reviews, comparisons and news that simply name or show a brand are fair use and fine. Only applies when the video looks like it comes from or is endorsed by the brand.

Can FYProof spot it?

A full check of your video looks for it in what's shown, the words on screen and the caption. What a check finds is an estimate, not a guarantee.

  • Video: looked at for this rule
  • Speech: not for this rule
  • On-screen text: looked at for this rule
  • Caption: looked at for this rule
  • Hashtags: not for this rule

Platforms change their rules often. This page sums up what X publishes; it isn't legal advice.
