What triggers it

Sponsored, gifted or otherwise incentivized content with no clear disclosure (#ad or Pinterest's paid partnership label).

What Pinterest says

“Include a clear disclosure to indicate the commercial nature of your content (such as the use of #ad to indicate that your content is a paid partnership, or applying a label to your content using Pinterest’s paid partnership tool)”

How to fix it

Turn on the paid partnership label when publishing (it can't be added later) and add #ad.

Good to know

Brand deals, gifted products, discount codes. In the EEA a disclosure is required for all commercial content, including your own products.

Can FYProof spot it?

A full check of your video looks for it in what's said, the words on screen, the caption and the hashtags. What a check finds is an estimate, not a guarantee.

  • Video: not for this rule
  • Speech: looked at for this rule
  • On-screen text: looked at for this rule
  • Caption: looked at for this rule
