What triggers it
Showing, describing, promoting or glorifying extremely low-calorie diets, starving, bingeing or purging, unsafe use of dieting, fasting or medication, harmful exercise for weight or muscle, or body comparison trends (e.g. comparing body parts to objects).
What TikTok says
“That’s why we don’t allow content that promotes disordered eating and risky weight management behaviors.”
We last checked this against TikTok's page on .
How to fix it
Remove calorie targets, restriction tips and body comparisons. Frame it around recovery or health, not weight loss speed.
Good to know
Watch for very low calorie targets, 'what I eat in a day' glamorizing restriction, purging, 'thinspo' or body-check trends, before/after rapid-loss claims. Does NOT count: talking about one's own eating-disorder struggle without encouraging it (that is ineligible for the For You feed), sports nutrition, medically supervised diets, religious fasting.
