Copyrighted music you don't have rights to
Snapchat may mute the video's sound.
Free, no account: paste your caption and hashtags and see what Snapchat may flag, in seconds.
What triggers it
Music added outside Snapchat Sounds (e.g. a commercial song edited in elsewhere) without the needed licenses.
What Snapchat says
“If your content contains music other than Sounds, you are responsible for obtaining any necessary licenses and rights that may be required for such music. Any such content may be muted, removed, or deleted if your use of music is not...”
How to fix it
Replace the track with a Snapchat Sound (for non-commercial Snaps) or with music you own or licensed.
Good to know
Recognizable commercial tracks in the audio. Spotlight Terms also require you to hold all music rights for Snaps submitted to Spotlight. Repeated violations can deactivate the account.
