Strikes add up to posting bans

Facebook may take the video down and give the account a strike.

What triggers it

Each Community Standards removal can add a strike. On Facebook: 1 = warning, 2-6 = feature limits (e.g. posting in groups), 7 = 1-day, 8 = 3-day, 9 = 7-day, 10+ = 30-day content-creation ban; repeat violators are disabled.

What Facebook says

“Ten or more strikes: You’ll get a 30-day restriction from creating content.”

How to fix it

Check Account Status before posting borderline content; delete or appeal flagged posts.

Can FYProof spot it?

A check doesn't look for this one. What a check finds is an estimate, not a guarantee.

  • Video: not for this rule
  • Speech: not for this rule
  • On-screen text: not for this rule
  • Caption: not for this rule
  • Hashtags: not for this rule

Part of this rule depends on your account or on what happens after you post, which a check before posting can't see.

Platforms change their rules often. This page sums up what Facebook publishes; it isn't legal advice.
